Upcoming NCVAN Events
The events for National Crime Victims' Rights Week are as follows: On Tuesday, April 8, 2014 the Victim Services Interagency Council of North Carolina will hold its annual Crime Victims' Rights Week events at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, NC. The Crime Victims' Rights Week ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm with a pre-event reception at 6:00 pm. For the 2014 Invite and Photo Submission Form, please click here. On Wednesday, April 9, 2014 NCVAN will hold its annual Crime Victim Memorial Garden Ceremony at 11:00 am at the NCVAN Crime Victim Memorial Garden. The keynote speaker will be homicide survivor Lynda Simmons from Sparta, NC. Invite will be posted soon.
The 4th Annual NCVAN 5K Walk/Run Stride for Survivors will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 8:00am in downtown Raleigh. For more information, click here.
Events Within the Community
The Starfish Group
This meeting is for anyone who has been sexually abused, their support person, or if they know of anyone sexually abused. This group will meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month. February 21st will be the next meeting, to be held at Gateway Church in the Family Life Center located at 201 Meadow Drive, Fuquay Varina just off 401 North of Fuquay. The meetings will be from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. You must be 18 to attend due to sensitivity of content.
This is a safe place and the group facilitator will ensure that you are made to feel welcome and accepted. You are not alone and there is hope and help.
